Sailing in to New York around 1770
Does anyone have good leads on where to look for information on people sailing in to New York around 1770? One of my secondary sources gives numbers of ships coming in to the port for that year, but no other details. This leads me to suspect that further records do exist. Thanks for any ideas.

Many ships due to arrive in New York didn't because of weather, getting lost, etc. I do not know your particulars, but looking at all ports for the time period might be beneficial. Also look for departures in Ireland - many appeared in newspapers.
